Chrism Mass Homily

This evenening, the People of God of the Diocese of Cheyenne gathered for the annual Chrism Mass. From St. Patrick in Casper, we celebrated the unity that is ours in Jesus Christ, and His great work of Human Redemption. Below is tonight’s homily. The purpose of every Eucharist is unity.  It is one God we worship.  It is one community that worships; the present and the absent.  It is the sacrifice of the Church, the whole Church.  It is One Lord, who is offered in the Eucharist, and One Lord received.  The presence of the […]

New Mission Statement

When we began our Strategic Pastoral Planning process a year and a half ago, we realized that we also needed a new Mission Statement for the Diocese.  I am glad to say that not only is the pastoral plan now in final draft, to be promulgated next week, but we also now have a new mission statement. We wanted a statement that reflected that the Diocese makes up the entire state of Wyoming.  We wanted also to capture the fundamental ‘mission’ for us as a local Church.  The Leadership Team of the Diocese, along with […]

I chose this Gospel passage this evening because I wish to speak with you of my own discovery of Christ, and my deep desire to invite you to a deeper knowledge of […]
