Yesterday, the Catholic Community of Holy Spirit celebrated 125 years of faith in Rock Springs. The first parish, Our Lady of Sorrows was followed 25 years later by Sts. Cyril & Methodius.  Historically a railroad and mining community, Rock Springs has a strong ethnic mix and background.

We gathered in Bunning Park for an 11:00 Mass.  Mercifully, the temps did not get uncomfortable until later in the day, and there was plenty of shade and very little wind until late in the Mass.  There was a great turnout of parishioners, young and old.

A few volunteers began early in the morning roasting a pig in the parking lot.  Everyone else pitched in with a dish of some sort and there were tables of food to be enjoyed following Mass.  Great entertainment, dancing, and plenty of fellowship topped off the occasion.  Congratulations, Holy Spirit parish!  Keep living the Faith!
